Full-time job as a HR Manager. Family of six with four active boys. Busy SportClips franchise owner with 5 locations. Those were always my excuses as to why I never “had time” to workout or eat healthy. After the new year, I vowed to make 2013 different. I checked into many programs but after emailing GoTimeTraining and receiving an immediate phone call from Kalene, who patiently took the time to listen and enthusiastically explain the “GoTime Difference” to me, I knew I was heading on a weight loss journey that would allow me to never look back to the “old me” again!
Kalene set me up with Danielle Lagow, and we began training 3 times per week on January 30, 2013. I was super excited to learn all about proper nutrition and getting my body back after 4 children (including a set of twins)! I wouldn’t admit it to anyone, but I was a major sugar addict. I thought nothing of having a Starbucks Hot Chocolate each morning and eating a dessert with every meal. My energy was zapped by the time I got home from work when my family needed my attention. What I immediately loved when I started with Danielle, was the fantastic, easy-to-follow nutrition plan she developed that allowed me to eat 5 times per day and still feel satisfied. Danielle introduced me the concept of grocery shopping with a game plan, planning my meals in advance and keeping a food journal. These steps helped a busy, working mom like me, stay accountable and organized. It’s much easier to cheat when you’re not prepared! Not anymore! Every morning, I whip up my yummy protein shake at work and pack salads, fruit and lean chicken or fish and my favorite “treat”, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Quest bars, the night before, so that I can stay on track every day. It’s incredible that I’m eating more food than ever but still seeing week to week weight loss.
To say that GoTimeTraining has changed my life would be an understatement…
The workouts were tough for me the first few weeks because I was so out of shape, but as I felt more comfortable in the gym and with my own abilities, my confidence began growing with each session. Danielle is extremely friendly, motivating and inspiring to me and our workouts have given me unbelievable results! My husband, Roger, spends 2 ½ hours in the gym daily and he so wanted me to get healthy and develop a passion for fitness so that we’d have this lifestyle in common…after 17 years together, I finally can truly understand why he loves and never misses his workouts! I spent years doing cardio only and even used to teach aerobics before and during my pregnancies but my body needed more to get the results I wanted. Strength training was definitely the answer! I LOVE my sessions with Danielle and wake up each morning with energy, focus and a positive attitude. I build time into every day to take my dog on a run, walk on my treadmill at home or do something active…it’s a regular part of my life now.
It’s made me love myself again and want to continue to get stronger and keep working to achieve my final goals! I will run my first 5K on April 13, which I’m so excited about!
My body has dramatically changed and I couldn’t be more pleased with what I see when I look in the mirror. Since January, I’ve lost a total of 10 pounds and 16 inches. I have gone down 2 sizes in jeans and can, once again, fit into my favorite, super cute clothes. I see definition in my shoulders and arms for the first time in my life. My husband is so proud of my progress and tells me every day how great I look. I can’t wait for our trip to Hawaii later this year so I can show off my new bikini body!
