GoTimeTraining entered into the fitness industry back in 2011 after its co-founders left their corporate jobs and decided to pursue their passion in the fitness business. A passion that was deeply rooted in helping others realize the benefits of learning about nutrition to create a body transformation.

The Owner & CEO, Shannon Dykman, never lived a healthy life growing up and wasn't the athletic one in school. Shannon began his career as a Mechanical Engineer at The Boeing Company and later was appointed the Chief of Staff for the Wichita facility after receiving his MBA at Wichita State University.

Today, GoTimeTraining is Wichita's leading personalized fitness coaching company for busy professionals to lose weight, boost energy, and feel more confident everyday.

Personalized fitness coaching includes individual functional movement assessment, strength training and nutrition program design, and supportive coaching every step of the way.

Unlike gym memberships, traditional personal trainers, and cardio based workouts that are incomplete programs and lack accountability, GoTimeTraining is the only one that offers a complete solution with individual programs and nutritional support to deliver long term results.

    As a young adolescent my mother passed away from cancer.  I did not realize it at the time, but that experience would fuel me towards the path of not only increasing my health and fitness but to help others increase theirs.  I, of course, started off just wanting to not be the skinny kid.  As with many teenagers, I wanted muscles!  I found that working out also relieved my depression and gave me a purpose that I never thought would grow to be my life!  I started reading muscle magazines, researching the internet and living at the gym.  It took some trial and error, but through educating myself, with the help of others, and staying consistent, I started seeing improvement.  As I started seeing improvement, so did others and people started looking to me for guidance.  At that point I saw that I could help people to see and feel all the amazing benefits of nutrition and fitness and to change the quality of their life and its longevity. That’s when I decided that I wanted to be a Personal Trainer!  I have been a Certified Personal Trainer in the for over 12 years now.

    I attained my first A.F.P.A Personal Training Certification and started training in my local gym in Ponca City, Ok.  A few years later, I moved to Tulsa, Ok. to follow my dreams and further my future as a Personal Trainer.  I received my N.A.S.M Certification and began working for All American Fitness where I started as a Certified Personal Trainer, then promoted to Fitness Manager and then again promoted to General Manager. After seven years working for All American Fitness I was  presented with a unique opportunity to help open a brand new fitness facility, Body Masters, from ground up as General manager and Certified Personal Trainer.  I helped with every aspect of opening the new gym, from moving in equipment to training the staff.  I, of course, continued in my passion to better lives by personally training members.  It was the job of my dreams but it is amazing how one’s dreams can change.  Mine sure did when I met the love of my life, my fiancé Monica!  Only problem was that she lived 3 hours away in Wichita, Kansas.  Once again, with great thought, I followed my heart and now live in Wichita and I believe that it was all for a greater purpose.  I became an Instructor at Heritage College in the Personal Fitness Trainer program where I received my ACE certification and am now educating students to go out and help others. I am excited to join the GoTimeTraining.com team and begin transforming the lives of others.   In the future I plan to step on the fitness/bodybuilding stage and look forward to working with other competitors to help them prepare as well.  To schedule a personal consultation or begin your transformation please contact me today!

    I was born in Tulsa OK, lived in nearby Sapulpa OK until age 10, then moved to Winfield KS. I attended Udall High school where I graduated in 2010 with a class of 27 people. I was a 3 sport athlete from age 5 to 18. After high school I attended Independence Community College where I played two seasons of football. After three semesters I transferred closer to home and attended Cowley County Community College for one semester. After Cowley I attended Southwestern College in Winfield where I continued to play football. I graduated from Southwestern with a Bachelor's in Sports Management.  I really have football to thank for my love of fitness.  Seeing progress is an amazing feeling and I want to help others see just how great it is.

    Growing up I was very active.  As a young child I played summer softball.  In high school I played volleyball and softball. Staying active always kept me in shape, energized and feeling confident in myself.

    Like most people, I stopped playing sports after graduating high school.  It was time to take on responsibility in life which led to a desk job and a serious boyfriend (who later became my husband).  My life went from high activity to somewhat sedentary which led to slow and steady weight gain.

    After a year of marriage, my husband and I wanted to start a family.  I went into pregnancy with the wrong mindset but didn't know any better at the time.  I thought "I'm going to get fat anyway so I can eat whatever I want".  I weighed around 150-155 pounds and gained 26 pounds with each of my daughters and never lost any of it after having them.  In 2009, one year after my second daughter was born, I was 200 pounds.  There was no excuse, I was no longer pregnant therefore I should have been able to lose the weight but my mindset wasn't there yet.

    One day it hit me, I didn't want to look or feel this way anymore.  That is when I decided to get serious about getting back into the pre-pre-baby shape I was in before.  To get back to the activity I once loved so much and to begin nourishing my body with healthy foods that made me feel good.

    I recruited my best friend to be my workout partner.  She was very important for me to have. She helped keep me accountable and motivated to workout, especially on the days I just wanted to give up.

    January 2015 my world got turned upside down when my husband past away. I was 33 years old and became a widow, the worst title I have ever had. My daughters were 6 and 8 years old and I knew I had to be strong for them and not give up on life.

    At this point I was going to the gym consistently 5-6 days a week. I stopped most cardio and focused mainly on strength training. Family, friends and acquaintances kept telling me how strong of a women I am with all that I have gone through.  They were amazed that I still walked around with a smile on my face while keeping everything from falling apart.  Little did they know the distress, sadness, fear, anger, and numbness I was truly experiencing.

    Despite all the emotions I found going to the gym was my form of therapy.  This is where I found my passion for health and fitness. People around me started to see a change in me and began asking what I was doing. I realized I wanted to get involved in the health and fitness world to help others because it has made such an impact on my life.

    My entire life is so different now then it was a couple years ago. I went from being married with two daughters, running a daycare out of my home, going to school full time for elementary education, and being physically weak both mentally and physically to graduating with my teaching degree, becoming a widow, but also becoming mentally and physically strong, appreciating life and all the blessings God has given me. It isn't easy for a single mom to get to the gym 5 days a week but I have been doing it for a year now and I am so glad that I have.

    My goal is to help inspire everyone I come in contact with, that they can turn their health around through exercise and nutrition just like I did.

    Growing up I had no nutrition education other than an apple a day or stay off your game console. Luck enough I played sport all through high school and my first two years of college. I then quickly learned you can't out exercise a bad diet.

    My fascination with transforming my physique began in early 2004 while studying Mechanical Engineering at Western Michigan University. I began lifting weights with a close friend and became hooked on the mental release and sense of accomplishment that working out provided. I didn’t grow up in a household centered around fitness or health (sorry Mom) and my poor lifestyle choices led to several gastrointestinal disorders. It wasn’t until I graduated and moved to Wichita, Kansas for a job in the Aerospace Industry that I fully uncovered my passion for nutrition and it’s ability to manipulate the human body.  Little did I know that all of my issues with my ‘stomach’ hinged on the fact that I had a terrible diet.

    When I moved from Michigan to Kansas in January 2006 I started a new life on my own and I uncovered what happened when you mix clean nutrition, hard work in the gym, and consistency. In a few short months, I had transformed my lifestyle and lost nearly 20 pounds.  It was from that point forward that I embraced the lifestyle and now live it on a daily basis.

    My business partner, Kalene Smith, and I first met in 2009 and through our friendship, we both began to develop our passion for health and fitness to a higher level. We were able to rely on each other for motivation to push our bodies to the competitive level as natural physique athletes. In 2010 I entered into and won my first natural bodybuilding competition. Today, I am a professional natural bodybuilder with the International Federation of Physique Athletes (IFPA) and I continue to develop my knowledge of nutrition, training, and lifestyle transformation without the use of performance enhancing drugs.

    Aside from my Engineering Degree, I also have a Master of Business Administration from Wichita State University and in September of 2012, I quit my full time job in the Aerospace Industry to work full time as Owner/Operator of GoTimeTraining.com and a Wichita personal trainer. Today I spend my time coaching clients in our Wichita personal training studio and online to help them transform their lifestyle just like I did years ago.     Throughout my entire life I was always an active person. As a young child I was introduced to competitive sports through my mother and father which carried on throughout my teenage years. While finishing up high school, I decided to join the military where physical fitness was of high importance. Throughout my Basic and AIT training, I excelled as the highest performer in my company on the APFT (Army Physical Fitness Test). While deployed overseas in 2006, the chance for conducting physical fitness started to become nonexistent due to the high stress and high volume working atmosphere. Upon returning home in August of 2007, the though of exercise and clean nutrition did not cross my mind like it had before.

    In 2008, I moved to Wichita and that’s when I started noticing a physical change in my appearance, it wasn’t a good change! I decided to get a membership at a local gym in attempt to get back into shape. This would be the first time that I would actually weigh myself, only to be disappointed in myself. My weight increased almost 20 percent from before being deployed. While trying to get back into a gym routine, I was also attending school and working part time. Work and school started to interfere with my frequency of working out.  In 2009, I joined a Reserve unit and found out how out of shape I really was. The Reserves began recording me height and weight, as well as my Body Mass Index. This is what motivated me to revamp my diet and lifestyle, and dedicate myself to transforming my body.
    I began educating myself on the importance of nutrition and what foods I needed to incorporate to start successfully reducing my weight. I started to work in the fitness department at a sporting goods store where I began incorporating and exploring more in-depth information on fitness and nutrition. I started going to the gym first thing in the mornings and over a couple months I was losing weight with success and never looked back. I received my Personal Training Certification from the I.F.P.A. in 2011. Just recently, I graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice, but my passion to help others through my own personal transformation and knowledge in exercise has set me on a different path. To see others motivated to change and step up to achieving their fitness and lifestyle goals, only makes my passion grow.
