After months of my Fiancé asking me and encouraging me to get back in the gym, I realized I didn’t have
the will power and drive to push myself. It wasn’t that my Fiancé was not supportive or willing to go to
the gym with me, our schedules just didn’t match up.  Our wedding day is around the corner and I put
on 12-15lbs after picking out a dress, it dawned on me support from a personal trainer might not be so
bad because three months will approach fast.

The most valuable thing I have learned from my trainer Sterling Brown is that a balanced healthy diet is
equally important as working out. I could eat pizza and chips and cheese dip all day every day. Eating a
clean diet is still a challenge for me but my trainer is great with approaching and redirecting in a way
that meets my needs and personality. The personal trainer support has been great with keeping me
focused and on track. I may not always like it, but I also want the results of positive changes and without
making those changes, I know results will not happen.

I was bummed out when I learned GoTimeTraining wanted us to keep weekly pictures to track results.
First of all because I didn’t want to admit how far off track I had come. Secondly, I was not confidant
with certain areas that used to be my confidence. Now, I love the pictures. I can see where I started,
how far I’ve come and how far I want/need to go to achieve my view for my success. Each person has
their own goal of success, so I keep telling myself that is their goal and this is mine.

I have not yet achieved my goal but a little over a month I’ve lost 2 inches and am back to where I was
when I first got fitted for my wedding dress. After 2 weeks of training my Fiancé said “I can tell you are
shrinking.” Talk about a confidence boost and the drive to keep going. Three weeks in he was worried I
would become more fit than he was. For us it’s a healthy fun competition, because now we can talk
about working out and our changes together.

As an independent individual it was hard admitting I needed support then going out and seeking it. I
would encourage those who are seeking a healthy change and transformation to step outside their
comfort zone and go for it. The worst response anyone can get is a, NO. Let’s be honest though, if your
question is: I’m looking to make changes for a healthier life style, can I find that here? I would love to
meet the individual who tells you, NO.

Kraig A.

Perhaps you can relate to this feeling but over the past last few years my weight had been creeping up on me. It wasn’t something that happened over night but once I hit the 270 pound mark, I was very unhappy with how I looked in the mirror and felt about my overall health. I had tried diets advertised on TV commercials, popular meal replacement shakes, and bought workout videos by the stack, all with little or no success. They were not all bad products, but I was always missing a piece of the equation. I didn’t know how to do it on my own. I wasn’t able to pair up a healthy diet with quality workouts all while keeping myself motivated on a daily basis. I didn’t think that I ate that bad, but I wasn’t eating breakfast to start. I was slamming carb loaded sports drinks and rarely drank water all while thinking I was being healthy! Another mistake I made was staying up late watching TV and snacking on whatever was in the fridge since I was famished from trying to “diet” all day long. Not to mention, I was less active than I was when I was younger, competing in martial arts, and later joining the military. I was lazy and not in a good place–I needed help!

How do you learn to be healthier? Well, when you want to become a pilot, you hire a flight instructor. When you are sick, you see a doctor. And my doctor told me I was at risk for all of the problems associated with being obese. I knew it was time to seek help of a professional who could help me get back my health, provide personal training, and educate me on nutrition. I recall meeting a personal trainer a few times through some family functions but didn’t know how to contact him. That is when I reverted to some Facebook “stalking” and found him–Raymond Elliott with GoTimeTraining. The next day, I sent Raymond an email asking if he would be interested in helping me make a change. I was surprised how quickly he responded and he showed much enthusiasm towards helping me.

Raymond and I met in person at GoTimeTraining to discuss my goals and Transformation Program options. I decided that an online Transformation Program was best for my schedule and it was very affordable, too. With the online Transformation Program, Raymond provided workouts programs, nutritional guidance and the education behind all if it. The key factor with my success was the constant motivation and email support that the online Transformation Program provided. It was great knowing that all I had to do was follow what he told me. And follow him I did! I went to the gym, lifted weights, did the cardio, and tracked everything I ate. When I had questions, I asked. It was really a simple process. Every week, I sent my photos in and Raymond reviewed my meals, updated the program as needed, and educated me in the process. I had faith in the process, and the weight disappeared. All those people at work who asked why I was eating the healthy food started to take notice and began asking what I had eaten again! It felt great.

In 16 weeks, I lost over 46 pounds and 10% body fat. Looking back, it was not as hard as I expected. It wasn’t always easy, but I learned to plan ahead. I had a great support system both at home and from Raymond. It was just up to me to put in the work which provided a great sense of accomplishment. When people ask me how I did it, I tell them it’s was through the motivation, education, and inspiration of Raymond Elliott at GoTimeTraining. The best advice I could give is don’t wait, contact GoTimeTraining and discuss how they can help you achieve your weight loss and fitness goals this new year. After that, find what works for you but know you will get out it what you put in. Find healthier substitutions to your vices and plan out a deviation here or there. I found the key was balance and now that I’m down in my weight, I can afford a treat now and again without any set backs!

For me, it was not a race. I wanted a lifestyle transformation, and that is exactly what I got. My current goals include getting my body fat percentage into the teens (and then below!), and to return to the martial arts training I loved when I was younger. With the tools I learned Raymond, I am confident I will do both!

Full-time job as a HR Manager. Family of six with four active boys. Busy SportClips franchise owner with 5 locations. Those were always my excuses as to why I never “had time” to workout or eat healthy. After the new year, I vowed to make 2013 different. I checked into many programs but after emailing GoTimeTraining and receiving an immediate phone call from Kalene, who patiently took the time to listen and enthusiastically explain the “GoTime Difference” to me, I knew I was heading on a weight loss journey that would allow me to never look back to the “old me” again!

Kalene set me up with Danielle Lagow, and we began training 3 times per week on January 30, 2013. I was super excited to learn all about proper nutrition and getting my body back after 4 children (including a set of twins)! I wouldn’t admit it to anyone, but I was a major sugar addict. I thought nothing of having a Starbucks Hot Chocolate each morning and eating a dessert with every meal. My energy was zapped by the time I got home from work when my family needed my attention. What I immediately loved when I started with Danielle, was the fantastic, easy-to-follow nutrition plan she developed that allowed me to eat 5 times per day and still feel satisfied. Danielle introduced me the concept of grocery shopping with a game plan, planning my meals in advance and keeping a food journal. These steps helped a busy, working mom like me, stay accountable and organized. It’s much easier to cheat when you’re not prepared! Not anymore! Every morning, I whip up my yummy protein shake at work and pack salads, fruit and lean chicken or fish and my favorite “treat”, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Quest bars, the night before, so that I can stay on track every day. It’s incredible that I’m eating more food than ever but still seeing week to week weight loss.

Moniques-Lifestyle-Transformation-by-GoTimeTraining-e1364179355910

The workouts were tough for me the first few weeks because I was so out of shape, but as I felt more comfortable in the gym and with my own abilities, my confidence began growing with each session. Danielle is extremely friendly, motivating and inspiring to me and our workouts have given me unbelievable results! My husband, Roger, spends 2 ½ hours in the gym daily and he so wanted me to get healthy and develop a passion for fitness so that we’d have this lifestyle in common…after 17 years together, I finally can truly understand why he loves and never misses his workouts! I spent years doing cardio only and even used to teach aerobics before and during my pregnancies but my body needed more to get the results I wanted. Strength training was definitely the answer! I LOVE my sessions with Danielle and wake up each morning with energy, focus and a positive attitude. I build time into every day to take my dog on a run, walk on my treadmill at home or do something active…it’s a regular part of my life now.

It’s made me love myself again and want to continue to get stronger and keep working to achieve my final goals! I will run my first 5K on April 13, which I’m so excited about!

My body has dramatically changed and I couldn’t be more pleased with what I see when I look in the mirror. Since January, I’ve lost a total of 10 pounds and 16 inches. I have gone down 2 sizes in jeans and can, once again, fit into my favorite, super cute clothes. I see definition in my shoulders and arms for the first time in my life. My husband is so proud of my progress and tells me every day how great I look. I can’t wait for our trip to Hawaii later this year so I can show off my new bikini body!

Hong N.

I was hit with a hard reality check during my routine doctor’s visit this past May. To sum it all up, the doctor told me I was too young to be living with diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. On top of all that, my liver wasn’t functioning correctly. He placed me on four different types of pills and sent me on my way. I didn’t want to take pills the rest of my life and knew I had to make a lifestyle change. Or should I say “transformation”!

It was hard to face reality that at the age of 28 mybody was performing as if I was 65 years old! This brought me to seek professional help with my workouts, nutrition, and overall lifestyle transformation. I have always struggled with being overweight and not maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Eating out all the time, partying and boozing it up on the weekends with my friends had caused me to jeopardize my health. I knew I had to make a change before it got worse.

The most rewarding part about this experience thus far is how much knowledge I have obtained from my trainer Brent and how I can relate them back to everyday situations. Learning how to properly lift weights, to understand which foods (see my Chocolate Peanut Butter Power Ball recipe below) are best for my body and to enjoy my workouts have all been rewarding. I was afraid I was going to be put on a starvation diet during my transformation program but Brent has proven me wrong. I am eating way more food than I imagined yet continue to see the pounds fall off! I have more energy throughout the day and continue to see great results from the lifestyle transformation.

969928_544500942254108_1726784585_n-e1374949309980

I can’t go without giving praise to my girlfriend, Sandy. She has been by my side for the past 9 years and without her help, this transformation wouldn’t be possible. Not only did she support me by encouraging me to sign up, she also signed up for a lifestyle transformation program as well. By doing it together, we have been able to be each other’s backbone. We help each other stay on track, especially when we go out on our date nights and have the urge to splurge when we know we shouldn’t. Most of our free time is spent together at the gym now, instead of at the bar and surprisingly, we don’t mind that one bit!

My girlfriend has been the biggest supporter in my lifestyle transformation!

I am only halfway through my program and I want to continue with my trainer, Brent, afterwards. The knowledge and motivation that GoTimeTraining and Brent have given me proves that they are doing good things for the community and helping others truly change their life for the better. One important goal I set for myself is to not only become healthier, but to live a life where I am not dependent on pills to make me “healthy”. I also gave myself a goal of obtaining a 6 pack (abs) before I turn 30.

Jennifer S.

A little history about me. I’ve never been a small person, not even when I was in high school, but my weight challenges started after I went to college and followed me the next 20 years. My first year of college, I saw the Freshman 40 and second another 20. I lost 20 pounds the following year. Then I met my now husband and gained 60 pounds in our first six months together. By the time we were married in 2000 I’d hit the 300 mark. Over the years we’ve had gym memberships where we would be diligent for months and then get lazy or life would get in the way and any progress we’d made would quietly fade as our weight returned always a little bit more than the last time. The most success I’d had over that time was doing a program which involved tracking everything that you ate. I’d lost 50 pounds and again, given time, the weight came back. At my last physical I weighed in at a whopping 325. The most I’d ever been. I was determined this was it. I started going to the gym and watching what I ate and I did really well for 2 months. Making some good progress, seeing a loss that bounced between 15-20 pounds overall. Then it stopped. I was going to the gym for 5 days a week. Taking time away from my family and friends and making zero progress. I was frustrated. My family was frustrated. For me surgery was not an option I was willing to entertain, but it was evident I could not do this on my own. That weekend I found an ad for GoTimeTraining and decided to check it out.

Book A Free Consultation

To be completely honest, I was skeptical about the idea of GoTimeTraining. Really what could they offer me? I already knew a lot about nutrition. I knew what I should and shouldn’t be eating. I was familiar with how many calories were in food. I loved working out and I knew how to plan a good workout. I really was the fittest fat person I knew. When I was looking at the pricing on the different packages again I began to question whether this was the route I should take. It was a lot of money to invest, especially when I was seriously looking at changing from my original plan of doing the semi-private training to do a personal trainer AND signing up for a full year. I was in a place where I needed help. Desperately. I knew that. And if this didn’t work, I didn’t know what else there was I could do. Was I just destined to be the fat? So I took a deep breath and decided that it was time to invest in me and the future me.

Where I was before starting GoTimeTraining compared to where I am now has been a combination of subtle and not so subtle changes. I would get winded when I climbed the stairs to my desk. Getting out of bed in the morning I was greeted in a plethora of aches from a sore back and screaming from my knees for the first few steps. I was going to the gym regularly, attending classes, putting in my time on the elliptical. Going through, what I thought were all the right motions. Where am I now? Well, I can happily say a set of stairs no longer winds me. The morning aches have all but disappeared. In fact, I’m to the point now where I can do a light jog and those same back and knee pain points aren’t screaming at me to stop after a few steps. The instructors in my classes have commented on not just the physical changes I’ve had, but the fact my confidence has increased. It was something I hadn’t even realized. I have gone from the back of the room to the front. I am pushing myself harder. I have more purpose. That is probably the biggest thing that I’ve seen change. Focus. I am focused like never before. I plan my food. I plan time in my day to work out. I’m constantly looking for another challenge. Something to keep me engaged. Trying things I would have never tried. Right now I’m trying PiYo and training for a 5k. For the first time in ever I feel like it’s not an “I will get there some day”. It’s a “when I’m there next year…” Physically, I’ve been comfortable in my skin for a very long time. I like myself as a person, in fact I think I’m pretty dang awesome. ;) But there are changes there too. I’m MORE than I was before. I find myself being more positive. More excited to be me and to see the me I’m becoming. And that “more” brings more to those around me.

Some cold hard facts for those who want to see the numbers. I am 1/3 of the way through my journey. At 4 months in, I have lost just over 36 pounds. I have reduced my body fat by 3.2%. I am 27 inches smaller. 6.5 of those inches have been in my waist. I’m down from a size 24 to a 20.

Why should you try GoTimeTraining? I can give you a number of reasons. The most influential one for me has been accountability. You have someone looking at what you eat every day, but they aren’t just there to say, “you really shouldn’t have eaten those 2 cookies” they are there to help you. To advise. To correct. To encourage. You have no idea how fantastic that actually is until you hear from your trainer when you’re on vacation or struggling after making some bad decisions on the first Sunday of football season and you need a little extra support. The second thing is the community. The trainers get to know you. Cheer you on through your progress. They want to know where your challenges lay and how they can help you overcome those challenges. The workouts are awesome! Every time I go I look forward to pushing myself through the workout and achieving new goals. There are a variety of people who go there for a variety of reason. The trainers are there to help you to the next goal you have set for yourself. This girl is going to do a Spartan Race in Colorado in May of next year and I know with the help of my trainer at GoTimeTraining I will be able to achieve something that a year ago I would have never even dreamed possible.

Christie D.

With the help of semi-private training and nutritional coaching Christie was able to drop 20 pounds!

"My journey started a few years ago when I wanted to gain a healthier lifestyle. I did several programs such as insanity and used workouts off of bodybuilding.com. Three months in to each 'plan' I would always get fed up or be happy where I was at physically and then gain everything back a few months later. In February Ihit a number on the scale that I never wanted to see again so I started back into a workout routine. This time I was serious because it meant my health and something needed to change. I had heard of go-time training through family- friends and truly enjoyed the consultation because Shannon and Cheri learned about who I was and my past struggles. I am three months in with no intentions of stopping! The biggest learning experience has been around nutrition which I plan to carry on even after my nutrition coaching is finished. After the first few days on the nutrition plan I felt less bloated, had more energy, and didn't have any kind of hunger feeling at the end of the day. The semi private training sessions have introduced me to new workouts and Shawn has gradually been pushing me more as I progress. Overall I feel better, have energy even after those long work days, and have lost about 20lbs. I have plenty of progress to go and I know the road ahead will not be easy. With the tools and accountability GoTimeTraining has provided me I know that I can be successful!"

Kaelan A.

I started strength training at the YMCA when I was 19 years old. For me it was all about getting “big” fast using workouts that I picked up from other guys at the gym. I knew nothing about nutrition and equally as little about proper training techniques. As time went on I became more knowledgeable about strength training, but still lacking proper nutrition. For me the biggest problem was I loved to eat–I love food a lot! So eating everything in sight was what I did to get “bigger” and stronger.

Well, I got bigger! In the five years of my eating everything in sight I went from 167 lbs. to 230 lbs. but I lacked the muscular look I was after. My fiancé Danielle Arens started a healthier lifestyle with an online GoTimeTraining.com program with Kalene Smith in late 2011 and encouraged me to join her. I was stuck in my own ways and thought I my eat to get huge strategy was fine for now. The tipping point for me was when I sat down and looked at my overall health and family history. High blood pressure and heart problems run wild in my family and in early 2012 my father was diagnosed with type two diabetes and one week later had quintuple bypass surgery. Things were becoming real at this point for me. I realized I needed to change my ways or I’d be the next one with a deadly disease.

After watching watching my father go through all of this and seeing Danielle eating healthier everyday it opened up my eyes to making a lifestyle change. Danielle then put the idea of stepping on stage in my head and I laughed–no way! I gave it some thought and researched the Men’s Physique category as I knew I wasn’t interested in body building. I came to the conclusion that I could never get that lean. Ever picture I looked at had guys with rippling 6-pack abs and me not so much. Danielle stayed on me about joining her in a physique competition and I realized it would be a great bond for us to share as we build out life together so I decided to go for it.

I had heard several great things about GoTimeTraining.com and contacted Kalene to get started on my transformation. Not knowing what to expect I was nervous but excited for the upcoming lifestyle change. I’m not going to say it was easy transition to a new lifestyle but I had a goal and was determined to be successful. No cheating and no excuses, I was in it to win. I’ll be honest, it was a lot easier making this lifestyle change with Danielle, the love of my life. Every step of the way she was there holding me accountable and pushing me day to day.

I had certain expectations in a personal trainer and I will say that Kalene went above and beyond. We primarily worked with her online via email. Although as time progressed we visited her at their personal training studio for posing sessions and even a few workouts. You might think that having an “online” personal trainer you would be “here is your diet, good luck”, but instead I got support. It’s apparent Kalene loves what she does and she is extremely knowledgeable. Danielle and I now consider her a friend, too. She was always an email message away if I needed anything (which in my case was very often). As we got closer to the competition, she made sure Danielle and I were comfortable enough to step on stage. Thank you for all of the posing practice, competition seminars, and the 1-on-1 training sessions.

menphystop5-e1343062332266

In 16 weeks I transformed by body from 230 lbs. down to 180 lbs. It was go time! The big day was here! Both Kalene and Shannon were there with us bright and early, which we were very thankful for because we would have been lost without them. They touched up our tans and Shannon helped me out with my pump up before we hit the stage. Those granola bars tasted good! I felt more confident than I ever have in my life knowing what I had accomplished and what I was about to do. Getting up on stage for the prejuding was a blast. Once the morning show was over, Kalene made sure that we had a good strategy in place to not ruin my physique before we got to the night show.

I was extremely satisfied with my experience with GoTimeTraining.com as I placed fourth in the Mens’s Physique out of a tough line up. Danielle stole the show and won Overall Bikini. I am so proud of her and can’t wait to get married later this year. Without the help of Kalene and Shannon none of this would have been possible. I learned so much from getting up on stage but most importantly, I transformed my lifestyle and I’ll forever be thankful to to GoTimeTraining.com for that. From here on out I will chose to live the healthy and fit lifestyle and I’m already looking forward to my competition. A special thank you to my beautiful fiancé Danielle Arens for pushing me to change for the better and helping me every step of the way. It’s go time!

Oh my, how I have grown with Coach Sterling's guidance.  I came to GoTimeTraining after wasting 12 months of my life "swirling" between family, work and wellness.  I could not find a way to put my personal health and wellness as a priority.   Being a wife, mom and business professional, it is difficult to recognize your needs when you are so focused on others.    I was always tired due to mental stress, physical in-activeness and horrible eating habits.  I needed help!  Working with the GoTimeTraining team and having a personal trainer to hold me accountable, I was able to achieve my main objective of overall wellness that positively impacts my main priority, family.  I learned quickly that weight does not matter, the inches do!  The workouts were challenging and personalize to ensure I met goals.   I learned that simply writing down your food and knowing that someone else is going to view your intake, increased my personal accountability.  Eating, simply eating.. was my greatest challenge.  I learned that it is actually nice to eat breakfast, that a protein bar and/or a protein shake are both quick an easy snacks that will not make you tip the scale.  Once I came to understand the change I felt when eating balance meals and monitoring macros, I began creating a new lifestyle not only for myself but also for my family!  We shop differently and I have everyone conscience of what they are now eating.  Nuts n More, Egg whites and Almond Milk are a staple in the Muir household.  The day I knew I met my goal and that I had success was that day my college and high school athlete children were unable to keep up with my workout.  I had never felt stronger or more successful than that moment when I heard my kids say to each other, " wow, mom is killing it" and encouraging each other to keep up.   That was such a rewarding moment to know that I have set an example for my kids by doing something for myself!  It has been an amazing ride.  Thank you Sterling for your guidance, knowing when to push, keeping me challenged and all your motivation!

It seems like a New Year’s Resolution has commonly been to go to the go to the gym, lose weight, and get fit. But my resolutions commonly fell flat, and were more like a wish than a resolution. I found myself wanting to stay out of pictures, and was not happy with how I looked, but I never did anything about it.

In High School I played Soccer, & Baseball. Soccer was a year-round sport for me, so I was always in shape. My nutrition wasn’t the best, but I wasn’t eating out all the time either. I always ate cereal for breakfast, and then lunch was whatever the school had, and dinner was just what my dad had been cooking. In College, I would eat out every meal because it was easier than grocery shopping and making meals. I also realized that I was able to eat large quantities of food, and often times ordered the largest item on the menu. Once I entered a taco eating contest, and ate 31 tacos. Beer was also a large part of my diet in College.

In High School I worked out all the time, though I can only remember stepping into the gym one time during College. I had no motivation, and in my free time, all I wanted to do was go home and sit down on the couch, watch TV, and drink beer. Well when I graduated from College that same mindset stuck with me. When I got home from a long day, the first thing I would do is grab a couple of beers, sit on the couch and watch TV. My excuse for not going to the gym was that I worked too much, and didn’t have any time. I was using work as an excuse for my lack of activity, and my laziness. I had no motivation to change.

Half-Success-Double

In May of this year, my family and I went to one of our family friend’s wedding. When I saw the pictures from the wedding that my Mom had took, I realized that I wanted to make a change, but I was too lazy to do anything about it. A few months ago I talked to a buddy of mine, Kaelan Cooper, and he told me about GoTimeTraining. He said that his fiancé, Danielle Arens, and he were going to do a competition. So I was thinking a body building competition, which I thought he would have no problem, since he was already big, and muscular. Little did I know he was doing a Men’s Physic Competition. Seeing him lose 50 pounds during his competition prep was a huge motivation for me. I thought if he could lose weight, and get fit, then I could do it too!

About 2 months ago I downloaded this app on my phone called calorie counter. You can track the calories in your meals, and the calories you burn during certain exercises. It also tracks your weight. With this app, you insert your current weight, and your weight goal. Well I set my weight goal at 165 lbs. I’ve kept getting emails from the app saying “Weigh in Reminder – 15 lbs to go…” Well I never started using it, because shortly after I downloaded it, I started working out, and eating differently. Three weeks later I started my 16 week GoTimeTraining – Fit For Life Transformation. I set that goal, thinking I could never get down to that weight… But with the help of Kalene Smith and GoTimeTraining, I have!

I was a little discouraged when I started going to the gym, because I hadn’t worked out since High School. But having friends there pushing me to be better than I was the day before, kept me wanting to come back. I know I would not have the same results if I were just trying to lose weight and get fit on my own. Kalene has been right there motivating, and encouraging me the whole time, as well as keeping me accountable for everything I do. I have learned how to read nutrition labels, and how to eat clean. I never knew that I could eat as much as I am (6 to 7 meals a day) and lose weight.

I just finished my 5th week of my Transformation and I have lost a total of 17 pounds now, and have started developing lean muscle. Every week I look at my progress pictures, and it just puts a smile on my face! Each day I find myself more confident, and feel better about myself! I am so glad I decided to change my Lifestyle, and can’t wait to see where the rest of my Transformation takes me!!

Connie L.

My story begins with days filled with chronic fatigue, Fibromyalsia pain and osteoarthritis. My right knee, I was told, needed to be replaced. I sought the advice of a" functional medicine" practitioner.  The Doctor's protocol was for food sensitivity testing, additional supplements and an exercise program that fit my ability.  I knew I would find it hard to follow thru with exercise without being accountable to someone else, so my doctor recommended GoTimeTraining.

In pain, and  feeling tired and achy,  I climbed the TALL staircase to the Go Time Office.  Seriously doubting Shannon's claims that I could feel better,  I signed a contract for 18 months of coming 3 times a week!!!!  Yikes!  What have I done?

As I embarked on this journey to Health and Wellness, I met my trainer and now friend.  With Cheri by my side we've traveled the road of food choices and how they affect my mood and pain levels.  She has customized my exercises to fit my needs and abilities perfectly.  I am excited about the 10 pounds and 10 inches I have dropped in 5 weeks!  I see how it all works together now.  Food, fitness and friends!   I feel like saying, "I'm not 61 years old anymore.....I'm 61 years young!"

We haven’t reached our goals totally yet, but we both have lost inches and weight.  I dropped a dress size!  It’s nice to hear our friends and family tell us we are looking fit.  We feel more active and look forward to sailing and hiking  this summer. This is a great program.  Everyone is so friendly and encouraging.  We look forward to working out and the nutrition part is just making good choices not a restrictive diet!

Hello, we are Julie and Richard Barth.  We joined GoTimeTraining at the end of March.  We were introduced to GoTimeTraining by our friends Paula and Bryan Troyer.  We were impressed with their transformations and considered joining the first of the year but wanted to wait for our lives to slow down.  In March we realized this is our life and we couldn’t wait or we would never join.

Our goal was to gain strength (it was getting hard to get out of our recliners) and weight loss would be a plus.  We learned that it didn’t have to be by deprivation.  The nutrition program gave us plenty to eat and all the things we enjoyed eating.  I think Jake, our new friend and trainer, cringes when we talk about having enough macros to get Specialty Chicken from Dominos!

I told Richard it was like having date night twice a week.  Jake makes our work-outs fun yet challenging enough to get us out or our comfort zones and get the results we work for.  Jake is great with also working on correction of our posture and walking.

We haven’t reached our goals totally yet, but we both have lost inches and weight.  I dropped a dress size!  It’s nice to hear our friends and family tell us we are looking fit.  We feel more active and look forward to sailing and hiking  this summer.

I’ve been struggling with my weight for years. I’ve tried cross fit, yoga, jogging but never stuck with it because I didn’t have the support system like I do at GoTimeTraining! I finally decided I needed to make a lifestyle change when I went to Colorado with some girlfriends at the beginning of this summer. We were making our way up to Red Rock Amphitheatre in Denver and we had to climb several flights of stairs. I was worn out by stair 10 and at that moment, I remember thinking to myself, I need a permanent change. I’ll be turning 28 this year and want to be able to keep up with my friends! My best friend suggested GoTimeTraining so I made the appointment and I am so happy I did.  I’ve definitely had more than one success during these past 2 months. I have been learning new, healthier ways to prepare meals, noticing my clothes fit better and feeling more confident, and I gave myself a goal to lose at least 10 pounds while my boyfriend was deployed. He’s been gone 80 days and I can say I’ve achieved that goal and then some! It’s been a great journey so far and I’m excited to see what the future holds! Thank you GoTimeTraining for all of your support!

Where do I begin? These past 10 months of my life have been a wild ride to say the least. The death of my brother-in-law, my husband leaving, and me not eating or sleeping resulted in a 20 pound weight loss–which for me is a big deal since I’ve always been the “tiny” girl. Before you read about my Lifestyle Transformation, I’m proud to say that Shannon and GoTimeTraining have taught me how to manage my health to improve my eating, sleeping, and overall lifestyle habits. Throughout this amazing Lifestyle Transformation I finalized my divorce and discovered a much happier ME.

On top of my personal issues, I was also dealing with a condition called gastroparesis. Gastroparesis is a stomach disorder in which food is digested slower than normal. With gastroparesis, the stomach muscles work poorly (or not at all), thus preventing the stomach from emptying properly–essentially, food just sits in the stomach. For me, my stomach only digests food at 10% the normal rate. If you can imagine, not being able to digest my food properly causes other issues. Without going into detail too much, lets just say number-two would only happen every 9 to 11 days, leaving me bloated and uncomfortable on a daily basis. I ended up seeing every doctor under the sun and they all just threw medicines at me. I am NOT a fan of taking pills and I was their guinea pig for every new drug. At the end of the day, I decided that enough was enough and took myself off all of the medication. Some doctors disagreed with me, some said give it more time, some said take yourself off slowly but I just couldn’t do another day of “lining up my pills.”

I went from a scary 98.2 lbs and 14.1% body fat to 108 lbs and almost 17% body fat. Who knew 4 months ago that I would be happy about gaining weight!

As I mentioned earlier, I went through a laundry list of things that got me really down. My brother-in-law passed away unexpectedly on September 28th and it felt like my heart was ripped out. He was not only a brother, but a best friend which crushed me for a very long time. Three weeks later my husband decided to go to work and just never came home. You can only imagine the panic and fear I had after the loss of my brother-in-law . This is where the weight loss started for me–which wasn’t a goal of mine since I’m not overweight being the “tiny” girl. There were days where I couldn’t eat a single thing, not even a crumb. The thought of eating would make me want to throw up and I could barely stomach to get water down. I was like a little yo-yo–I wouldn’t eat for 2 days then I would eat for 2 days. The back and forth habits wasn’t wasn’t healthy for me or my daughter, who is my world. I felt like I was failing at being the mom I used to be and I didn’t have any energy to change my habits.

“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I — I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.”

-Robert Frost

Same road, different day. That’s what I thought when I met with Shannon to talk about signing up for bootcamps. I’d been down that road before, the weight loss road, that is. That’s what I thought I was getting when I signed up for bootcamps 3 times a week, a way to help me lose weight. It would be wishful thinking that I could get muscles with just 3 times a week, right? Shannon also said, “It starts with nutrition.” I couldn’t argue with that, so I signed up for TakeDown Lifestyle Nutrition Program as well. I had no idea what committing to those two things would do for me.

Before GoTimeTraining, exercise was something I had to do in order to accomplish my weight loss goal. Weight training scared me. How was I supposed to know what exercises I was supposed to do and how often to do them? It was all too much for me to think about on my own, so I took up running. Running was easy. Running worked for me. Then I got heel pain and couldn’t run anymore and the weight came back. The weight came back because I didn’t know how to eat. My mantra was eat less, exercise more, lose weight and that worked for me, but only in the short term. Once I was happy with my weight I exercised less, ate more, and the weight came back. Same road, different day.
But now, I’m on a different road, the road less traveled, and it has made all the difference. Exercise is something I want to do. I have a team of trainers and a nutritionist and they care about my success. My mantra has changed.

Exercise and eat to be fit and healthy.

I have learned so much from Nutrition Coach Stefanie about what my body needs. I’ve learned how to care about my health, not just how much weight I’ve lost. I’ve learned that eating healthy doesn’t mean sacrificing flavor or being hungry all the time. I’ve learned how to be successful.

Since joining GoTimeTraining in February, I’ve lost 31 pounds and lots of inches, gained muscle, and my body looks completely different. That’s the part that surprises me the most. I did this with just 3 bootcamps a week! My frequent migraines are almost completely gone, and I have gained confidence in myself that I’d lacked my whole life. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this grandma. Thank you, GoTime Training!

Desirae & Jeff A.

The term “lifestyle transformation” seems so cliché to me. While I attempt to think of something less “been there done that,” I’ll begin by saying I was trapped in a cheeseburger body and my husband a double. All my friends coined me as thin, ut folks, when your belly folds over your belt and pinches, you are not thin. Not to mention, my healthy won’t be the same as your healthy. So rewind a bit; where would I be had I not reached out to GoTimeTraining? I’d still be stuck in the middle of America, misinformed, living a lower quality life. Where am I now you might ask? I am 18 pounds lighter, my husband is 35 pounds lighter, and we have five beautiful children that are well on their way to a healthier chance at life–by choice I might add.

I feel like the luckiest girl in Wichita because I didn’t go through trial and error with our weight loss. I didn’t try diet fads, pills, or the latest trend. I was happy just the way I was–well mostly. Then I found GoTimeTraining. I recall asking my husband to “just go check it out, let’s see what they say or what we can learn from the consultation”. I was so nervous; we weren’t gym people. We were the farthest from it. Our special quality time together was always surrounded with food: what next new restaurant we wanted to try or even just the usual places. It was our “get-away”, our chance to enjoy something together.

GoTimeTraining-Lifestyle-Transformation-DBeason

After speaking with Shannon Dykman my Husband was fired up, and I was both excited and nervous to learn more about nutrition. Little did I know just how much I was about to discover. Aside from marriage to my husband, joining the military, and giving birth to my wonderful daughter, GoTimeTraining was the greatest thing to happen to me, and to us. Today my husband and I are far closer to one another than food could ever bring us. Working out together with Jake Linn made our six year anniversary exciting; we finally found a hobby that didn’t involve gorging ourselves to death, literally.

GoTimeTraining-Lifestyle-Transformation-JBeason

We owe many thanks to our trainer Jake Linn. He educated us, motivated us, and held us accountable. He was flexible with our schedules and genuinely concerned and excited about our progress. He kept us on track, on and off the clock. Without the dedicated professionals who work at GoTimeTraining it would just be another gym. However because Shannon & Kaleen, Jake, and the entire staff are dedicated to teaching the lifestyle of health and nutrition, it is NOT just another gym. THANK YOU!

Both Bryan and Paula have been participating in our Wichita personal training program since April this year. In their 8 months with us, together they have lost a total of 87 pounds at GoTimeTraining! Congratulations on your transformation and keep up the hard work!

“87 pound weight loss…between the two of us.

Hello our names are Bryan and Paula Troyer. We’ve been losing weight for years…problem was we kept finding it again. Countless hours on the treadmill, counting points for the things you eat, going no fat everything didn’t seem to make any long term difference. That was until we found GoTime. With their guidance on nutrition and exercise we soon discovered the right way…and it wasn’t as hard as we thought. Now don’t get me wrong we worked hard in the gym but the difference was we had a plan. The biggest surprise was that starving wasn’t part of it. Our trainer, Raymond (he’s the BEST), helped us with a food plan and target macros that included 5 meal a day consisting of 1800 calories for Paula and 2000 for Bryan. And we were often amazed how we were never hungry. We love the compliments since our transformation, it’s so encouraging that others notice you have changed. We both feel so good and feel like we look good… like we’re living the dream.

Thank you GoTime for being so great! Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!”

Its positive re-frames and positive supports like that, that keep me coming back, time and time again, to GoTimeTraining, and it mean so much to me.

“I hope you know you’re capable and brave and significant, even when it feels you’re not”

The quote above actually comes from a box of diapers (Thanks, The Honest Company and all my friends popping out babies!), but I thought that it was incredibly relevant to anyone starting a lifestyle change or for anyone continuing their fitness level. Starting out, I definitely did not feel that I was capable, or brave, or significant, and working out at GoTimeTraining and being a part of the GoTimeTraining family has helped me realize and recognize that I am those things.

I first started at GoTimeTraining a year ago. My best friend and I each bought a Groupon, honestly because we wanted to lay by the pool and day drink every weekend in the summer, and thought that some workouts would “cancel out” the day drinking. Turns out, it doesn’t quite work that way! But, here I am, a year later! I currently do nutrition coaching with Cheri, Semi-Private Trainings 3 days a week, and Sunday Funday bootcamp, because who doesn’t enjoy torture every Sunday? (I kid, I kid, I really enjoy it, I just also really like to complain!).

I was incredibly nervous the first time I went to boot camp, just because I knew that I had “let myself go”, and I was mortified at how out of shape I was and terrified to let other people see and know that! College and post-college years of fast food and binge drinking at the bars DEFINITELY caught up to me, and I was in extreme denial about it initially. However, going to those first few classes, getting to know the trainers, and getting to know new friends was one of the best things I have ever done (and, I did not die from exhaustion, a heart attack, or embarrassment! Bonus!). Anyone who comes and at least tries out a session is more brave and capable than they have let themselves believe, and I am glad that I was able to believe enough in myself to go through with it.

I am one of those people who “knows” what to do… I just don’t do it! I could go to the gym but I would do lazy cardio (meaning, I wouldn’t sweat or push myself!), or just not go! I have always “known” what to eat, I just haven’t done it! I could always lose a little weight before an event (I have will power in small spurts!), but it was never the healthy way, and once I reverted back to old habits, the weight would come back on and then some! It was an evil pattern, and one that I struggled (and still struggle!) to get out of.

I started Semi-Private back in the end of October when it first started, and I am so glad that I kicked it up to that level! I consistently get a fantastic workout, and always leave feeling that I worked hard! I added nutrition coaching with Cheri a few months back, and it turns out, THAT was where I was lacking! It doesn’t matter how hard or often I work out if I’m eating like crap all the time. I always “knew” that was the case, but until I actually made a consistent effort to stick with my macros did I see a significant change in measurements.

For me, consistency and self-accountability is the hardest thing! It wasn’t until I set myself a goal to track EVERY SINGLE THING that I was able to show myself that I am capable of sticking with something, and I am capable of achieving success. I have always had a very “all or nothing” approach to dieting, which I have found out isn’t the way to be successful in real life! I have learned how to eat at social events, how to go out to dinner, and how to still have a drink or two every now and then. I still eat “real” food, and eat salads because I want to, not because I am desperate to fit into a dress before something. I still allow myself “bad” foods, I just make them fit (although, sometimes they go over, but I’m a work in progress!). Previously, if I ate something “bad” I would just say “screw it” the whole day, and eat like crap the rest of it, which would lead to a week of eating bad, a month, etc. My first nutrition victory was when I had “bad” biscuits and gravy at a family breakfast, and was able to break that mindset, and have a healthy, normal rest of the day eating. That was a huge break for me, and one that I am incredibly proud of doing!

I work in mental health, and while I am positive for everyone else, positivity towards myself has always been a struggle. Luckily, my wonderful fit friends at GoTimeTraining are able to remind me and push me to be the best version of myself! I was speaking with Cheri one day, going over nutrition, and I told her that I had a physical with blood work, and that all of my levels were in healthy ranges. I stated “so there’s nothing wrong with me except I’m overweight”. Cheri’s response was “…. So there’s nothing wrong with you”. Every change I am making now is because I WANT to, not because I HAVE to, and Cheri helped remind me of that. Its positive reframes and positive supports like that, that keep me coming back, time and time again, to GoTimeTraining, and it mean so much to me.

“What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.” – Zig Ziglar

I chose Zig Ziglar’s quote as the title of my post because my experience with GoTimeTraining has truly changed so much about me beyond my measurements. You could say I “drank the Kool-Aid.” (Or maybe “ate the Quest bar” is more appropriate?) It didn’t all happen at once, but when I look back on my priorities and habits from two years ago – or even one year ago – I am a completely different person in some aspects.

I honestly didn’t really start with GoTimeTraining trying to lose weight. I joined bootcamp because I wanted something fun and healthy to do. I liked getting stronger and lifting heavier weights. Then I started one-on-one personal training sessions with Kalene because I wanted to up my badass percentage by being able to do a pull-up. Yep, that was literally the only goal I gave Kalene in my consultation. The weight loss was just a positive side-effect for me. When I started seeing a change and getting compliments, my inner goal junkie decided to actually start setting some weight loss goals. In the end though, my priority is always how I feel and how strong I am, not what the scale is saying. That is probably why you won’t find my weight loss stats anywhere in this post. I’ll just put it this way: over the course of a couple years, I’ve lost the equivalent of a kindergartner & dropped 5 dress sizes. Now get out my bidness!

When Kalene asked me to share my story, I didn’t even know where to start. I feel like I could write a whole book on things I’ve learned. However, I’ve managed to whittle it down to four key points. Some of them are things I’ve always known while others were a little more difficult to come to terms with. This isn’t earth-shattering stuff here – and I do not claim to be an expert or “finished product” – but hopefully someone gets something out of it!

You are your best investment.

Let’s get real here. GoTimeTraining is not Planet Fitness. (Thank goodness, by the way! Have you seen their commercials with the tagline that they’re “not a gym”? Uh, ok. Thanks for clarifying that. The free pizza was confusing me.) Anyway, GoTimeTraining obviously does not have a $10 monthly membership. When I’m trying to convince friends to join GoTimeTraining, one of the main questions people ask is the cost. They usually follow my answer up with, “Well, I already have a Y membership, so…” My questions to anyone reluctant to pay for sessions with GoTimeTraining because they have another gym membership are, “OK, but do you go? Is there someone there planning your workouts, pushing you to work harder, and keeping you accountable? Are you seeing results or getting a real return on your investment?”

I also highly recommend GoTimeTraining’s nutrition counseling. I was totally that person who said “I know what to eat, I just don’t do it.” First of all, only thought I knew what to eat. My first few weeks tracking macros were a little overwhelming, but once I got the hang of it, it became second nature. Plus, it made me much more aware of what I was putting in my body & how different foods made me feel. I never have an afternoon carb crash anymore because I consistently fuel my body with the right amounts of protein, carbs, and fat.

This is not an ad for GoTimeTraining, I swear. But seriously…it’s worth the money. It’s an investment in yourself and your future. If you’re not willing to invest in yourself, who will?

Take your time.

This isn’t a fast & furious 3 month plan to get you in shape for a beach vacation or a class reunion. If you have that mindset, you’re bound to revert back to your old ways after your “reason” is gone. I’ll admit that I would see people’s success stories where they had lost 30 pounds in 3 months & I’d be like, “What the! I only lost 13 pounds in 3 months!” However, when I look back, there are clear “seasons” to my transformation over the past couple years. I learned important things in each season, and I wouldn’t have been successful without each of them. I’m all about instant gratification, but because of the time I’ve taken, I’m confident in my ability to maintain my accomplishments.

Make peace with your genetics.

I don’t think I’m the only person who has a picture of what they think they should look like at their “ideal weight.” Funny enough, the proportions of my imaginary body are very different from my real body. They are proportions that will never be achieved without surgical intervention.

The point is, you’re going to drive yourself crazy trying to achieve something that is a genetic impossibility. I hate to say it, but you’ve got to learn to love the body type you were given. Someone with a different body type is jealous of yours. I guarantee it.

I like to say that I’m not a stick figure model, but I can bench-press one. I can also run circles around those skinny girls at the gym who spend hours on the treadmill and eat a rice cake for dinner. They can have fun with their body shaming. I’ll just be over here doing pull-ups like a badass.

Make it a priority.

I had to be brutally honest with myself on this one. You may say your goals are your priority, but are they really? Are you willing to sacrifice a night of boozing so you can wake up the next morning to workout and feel great all day instead of being at the mercy of a hangover and shame spiral? Life pulls us in all directions, and sometimes fitness goals have to take a bit of a backseat. But I promise you that you won’t get the results you’re looking for until you make those tough decisions. I’ve lived it, trust me.

If you’ve done one-on-one sessions with any of the trainers, you’ve probably heard the phrase, “what will get you closer to your goals.” It’s so annoying, isn’t it? It’s annoying because it’s true. We want them to tell us some magic answer to be able to have chips and queso with margaritas every night and still look like a swimsuit model. Seriously science, get on that.

BONUS!

Ha! Tricked you! I said I had four key points, but you’re getting a bonus one for FREE! If you don’t have one already, find a mantra. It will help you on days that you just “don’t wanna!” My personal favorites are “Ain’t nobody got time for fat.” and “Make good use of your pulse.” Pinterest has a plethora of inspirational mantras, quotes, etc. It’s my go-to place when I need a little extra motivation.

Since starting with the GoTimeTraining family 5 months ago I have lost my goal of 25 lbs and a ton of inches off my body. I've went from a size 14 pant down to a 6!!! I have gained so much strength and balance. I no longer have daily aches and pains, headaches, fatigue.  My cholesterol is 100% normal range! Off all my medications. Even though I'm not diabetic, I monitored my blood sugars and have still dropped my fastings by almost 20 points.

My journey.

My weight loss journey began 2 years ago. My youngest son was a year old and I was tired of the extra weight. I worked on diet and some exercise on my own and lost almost 20 lbs. 6 months later I began enjoying the holiday food and not really caring abut taking care of myself. I also ended up getting walking pneumonia and complications with my asthma among a few other medical problems. My weight again increased. I felt terrible. Functioning only to survive the day. The new year came and I promised myself to get healthy. So again I lost another 10 lbs and stopped. I had seen friends in other towns posting about fitness training and lifting.  I longed to feel how they looked in their pictures. I felt weak. Over spring break we visited family and I again had this exhaustion. On the drive home I decided it had to change. I googled personal trainers. 3 businesses came up in my area. So I called all three and gave it to God. I was so terrified of committing myself to something like training, but I thought if God wills it these gyms will call me back. Within minutes I got an email from GoTimeTraining. A short time later I got a call from Shannon. He was so kind and understanding of the mess I was and told me to come in. So I thought okay! I went and met with him and he asked me on a scale of 1-10 how motivated are you. I said 0. He looked a little worried! But I said I'll do whatever you ask of me. I'm trusting you.

I then got to meet Shawn. He tested me and gave me a beautiful assortment of bands. I was thankful I always had one to match my outfit!! Shawn pushed me farther than I physically thought I could go. I honestly felt terrible the first workout. My husband kept reassuring me I was going to live. Turns out I did, so I went back for more and more and more! The drive to get stronger began! 3 months in I lost all my bands and gained a beautiful black one!

Has it been easy? No. But has it been terrible? No. I've taken it one day and one challenge at a time. I have hit my plateaus for sure but Shawn has gotten me through them with adjustments to nutrition and exercise. He has met me where I'm at and never made me feel inadequate.

My biggest success was just this past weekend. Last second I signed up for Conquer the Gauntlet In Tulsa. I've never competed or even ran a 5K. 30 obstacles and 4.3 very muddy miles later I ran across that finish line! Unbelievable! I look at the pictures and almost don't recognize myself! I see a woman of confidence and strength that I didn't know I even had in me.

I honestly can say that GoTimeTraining has given me my life back along with some awesome friends along the way too!!

We knew that we wanted to lose some weight, eat healthier, and feel better in general. Deciding what approach to take, what guidelines to follow? That was the issue. A friend introduced Heather to Raymond at GoTimeTraining. We knew that he had an approach that we could live with and that was the important part. We had talked to trainers before even met with some but the way they ate and the lifestyle they lived were not going to be something that we would stick with every day. Everyone has food weaknesses we are no different. Raymond has shown us how to balance our diets so that we can have different “treats” that we want, in moderation, sometimes. We don’t have to completely give up brownies, bread or Starbucks. We just have to moderate and stay within our macros. Sometimes it is hard to stay on track with all of the summer get-togethers going on but it has helped having a partner to do it together with. Also Raymond is super helpful and always talks to us about how we are doing and encourages us to set new goals to work on.

We have both lost about 25 pounds! We have also gained muscle and toned many areas. Both of us have had health issues that Raymond has had to work through and change our workout plans. Knee, wrist, and back problems have prohibited us from doing some things and learning how to correct them and other methods of working out have been amazing! The best part of that is that we have made the changes in a way that we can live with on a daily basis. So gaining it back is a lot less likely. We both feel so much better physically with more energy to do things that we want to.

Molly C.

Molly joined the GoTimeTraining family at the beginning of 2015 when she started personal training with Cheri. Since then she has dropped 32 pounds! She has put in some serious work but the pay off is so worth it. We couldn’t be more proud!
My goal when I started was to be in overall better shape! I was quite out of shape after having 3 boys in 4 and a half years!  I also just wanted to learn healthier eating habits and teach those to my kids.
I would say the most valuable thing that I have learned is that healthy meals don’t have to be elaborate meals that take your entire evening to cook.  There are healthy convenient meals if you look for them; as well as easy recipes. I have 3 boys that are 5 years old and under and I don’t have the time or desire to spend my whole evening cooking.
I love working with Cheri because she keeps me accountable. There are times when I don’t eat something because I know I am going to have to record it.  There are times when I feel overwhelmed with everything else and I don’t feel like I have time to exercise, but having standing appointments with Cheri keeps me from throwing in the towel.
I have lost 32 pounds.  When I started, the main thing I was concerned about was losing weight. There are lots of bonuses that never even crossed my mind when I signed up.  We don’t keep candy or desserts in our house anymore so our kids are eating much healthier.  The change in behavior of our 5 year old is AMAZING.  He is a much happier kiddo when he isn’t eating all that sugar! I would say the best part of my lifestyle change (even better than losing weight) is not feeling as tired. I used to feel tired all the time.  Now I feel ready to tackle the day when I wake up. I feel like a better mom because I have the energy to play with my kids! I also feel much more productive because I just feel better.
I haven’t reached my goal but I am well on my way.  I sure enjoy putting on clothes that are getting looser by the day!
My word of advice for anyone that is considering taking their first step towards a healthier lifestyle would be: do it because you will FEEL so much better. Even if you didn’t lose a single pound, just the change in energy is worth it. Losing weight is definitely a bonus.  If you have children, I feel like one of greatest lessons you can teach them is teaching them how to make healthy choices.

I have been a runner since 2004.  I started running so I could ‘make up for the food I ate’ i.e. lose weight.  I found that I enjoyed the sport which led me to run 10 half marathons and 1 full marathon.  My cardio vascular training was great, I lost weight but I was lacking muscle and definition.  I incorporated weight training on occasion but was unsure how to truly navigate the gym.

I sought out a trainer from another gym to help me achieve my goal of gaining lean muscle only to find my body in more pain than ever before.  My lower back hurt, I had radiating pain down my leg and I found myself injured a majority of the time.

I heard about GoTimeTraining through a friend and thought I would try something new.  I was paired with Coach Jake.   At my first meeting with Jake he took the time to do a thorough assessment of movements and an interview of my personal goals.  He wanted to know what my long term goals were and what obstacles might prevent me from reaching them.

I remember the assessment clearly, after a series of movements he analyzed my squat form.  After about 3 squats he stopped me.  He identified several areas that needed immediate correction.  For the next 4 weeks he had me doing corrective exercises to target my deficiencies.  At first I questioned his technique.  I felt as though I wasn’t ‘working’ hard enough but with each workout I found myself in less pain and my range of motion increase.

When I finally advanced enough to try another squat I was amazed.  I could finally squat without my heels peeling off the floor and my knees coming forward past my toes.  I was finally able to go deep into a squat with proper form.

The progress towards my first goal was met within 6 months.  Magically my lower back pain disappeared which I thought I would have to live with for the rest of my life.  I feel stronger, my range of motion has improved and I am more energized than ever.

I highly recommend GoTimeTraining and Coach Jake to anyone considering personal training.  The energy and environment of the studio is welcoming and Jake’s knowledge far surpassed my expectations.  His ability to spot and correct deficiencies in movements has helped my in every aspect of my life

I always was the fit and athletic person, playing volleyball and dancing ballet. My fast metabolism worked well with my high amount of exercise to keep me at a healthy weight and figure. However, because of my pregnancy, my metabolism remained high after stopping the high levels of exercise and I gained weight. Then, after gaining 20-30 pounds during student teaching, I was feeling bad every day. I had no energy. I was always tired. I needed a change. After my first year of teaching and winning a prize of free two weeks of boot camps, I was quite motivated. Then, I had a tonsillectomy and lost 25 pounds of muscle and fat since I could only eat ice chips for 2.5 weeks. I walked into Go Time Training a few weeks later, ready to start a new lifestyle. My before picture was from after my first boot camp after signing up. I felt bad mentally, tired, and physically weak. Now, three weeks later, I have much more energy, I sleep well, I am no longer always tired, I am much stronger and I feel better about myself.
